It began in the 1920's in the farmlands of New Zealand. Sheep shearers would wrap sheepskin around their feet to protect them from the bitter cold weather. This idea progressed to stitching the sheepskin around their feet, then adding a tough sole and sheepskin innersole for hard wear and comfort. The sheep shearers' wives thought that the boots were ugly, which is how the name ugg came about.

The ugg boot travelled quickly to Australia where they were quickly adopted by surfers to warm cold feet after a day on the waves. Then off to America where the name ugg was claimed and patented. However, an ugg boot is still an ugg boot, such as a car is a car, and NuggZ are top of their class.

The classic ugg pattern has been made by sheepskin manufacturers in New Zealand for over 50 years. Over the past 8 years NuggZ have continually added special features and new designs to make sure our customers stay one step ahead in comfort and style!
